The Icelandic Government Property Agency (FSRE), ID 510391-2259, on behalf of the contractor, Vesturbyggð ID 510694-2369, is requesting bids for the project Flood protection in Bíldudalur. This is a general tender.
The project involves constructing dams and cones that will be located on the slope above the settlement in Bíldudalur and up in Stekkjargilskjaft. These structures are intended to stop flooding from the gullies and slopes above the farm in Bíldudalur. Previously, a diversion dam was built outside the farm to divert floods from Búðargil north of the settlement.
This involves the construction of a cross dam and avalanche protection cones and other structures that are part of the project, such as roads, paths, trails, resting places and water channels. The underground cable and overhead line of Orkubú Vestfjarðar shall also be laid in the ground.
