Construction work inside the Treatment Core began in March, and interior fit-out is now underway on the building’s two uppermost floors. The project is proceeding according to schedule. The work covers two floors—the fifth and sixth—across four wings (wings 1, 2, 4 and 5), totalling about 14,000 m² currently under construction.
“The first task was to lay in-floor service conduits (embedments), and that work has been completed in wings 1 and 2 on both floors. The aim is to finish the embedment work in wings 4 and 5 in August. Installation of internal partitions on the sixth floor of wing 2 began in mid-May. Wall installation is also underway on the sixth floor of wing 1. At the same time, plumbing, ventilation (HVAC) and electrical installations are being carried out in wing 2,” says Sigurjón Sigurjónsson, project manager at NLSH.
Completion is scheduled for September 2027.
