New Landspítali ohf. has opened bids for interior fit-out and construction management in the Treatment Core at The New National Hospital. The scope covers floors from the lower basement up to the fourth floor (K2–4F). Three prequalified bidders participated. The bids are now being reviewed before a final decision.
Ístak submitted the lowest bid; all bid amounts are above the cost estimate. Amounts are shown exclusive of VAT (per standard practice).
Client’s cost estimate: ISK 12,036,317,723 (excl. VAT)
- Eykt ehf. — ISK 13,405,461,273 — 11.38% over estimate
- Ístak hf. — ISK 12,877,363,640 — 6.99% over estimate
- ÞG Verk ehf. — ISK 15,923,626,567 — 32.30% over estimate
The interior fit-out period is expected to be up to three years, and the contract also includes construction management for trade contractors to be selected through three upcoming tenders.
For those three building-services tenders (plumbing, HVAC and electrical) on the same floors, 15 Icelandic firms have submitted expressions of interest in their respective disciplines. Prequalification review is underway, with a restricted tender for MEP systems slated to begin in November.
ÞG Verk is currently completing the fifth and sixth floors of the Treatment Core; that work began last spring.
After the New Year, Nýtt Landspítali plans to tender interior fit-out of the Research Building (approx. 20,000 m²) and the Faculty of Health Sciences building for the University of Iceland (approx. 10,000 m²).
