A newly installed water slide at the swimming pool in Þorlákshöfn has been temporarily closed following several accidents.
A major celebration was held at the pool in mid-December when two new slides, “Slangan” and “Drekinn”, were opened. However, just about two weeks later, the latter has now been shut down.
In a post on the municipality of Ölfus’s Facebook page, it is stated that a thorough investigation into the causes of the incidents is underway, and that the slide will not reopen until it is certain that it meets all safety requirements.
