In the coming weeks, a new development will begin in KorputĂșn, a new shopping district on the border of MosfellsbĂŠr and ReykjavĂk, which will be about 40% larger than Kringlan.
Reitir owns the area and Jysk will be the first company to build operations in the area.
GuĂ°ni AĂ°alsteinsson, CEO of Reitir, says this is a unique opportunity for companies.
“There are not many places available in the capital area where it is possible to build many thousands of square meters of retail space. That makes this area special,” says GuĂ°ni, but it will be possible to build up to 17 thousand square meters of retail space, which is, for example, the size of the IKEA store in KauptĂșn. The development is therefore news in the real estate market.
The area is expected to be almost 90 thousand square meters, while Kringlan, Reitir’s largest property, is 65 thousand square meters.
