The building at Hafnarstræti 75 in Akureyri received the most votes in a poll organised by the Icelandic architectural forum Arkitektúruppreisnin, to find the most beautiful new building in Iceland. Almost 6.000 people voted.
The building at Hafnarstræti 75 in Akureyri received 39.5% of the vote and was named the most beautiful new development in Iceland in a poll by the architectural forum Arkitektúruppreisnin.
A total of 5,755 people took part in the vote, with five buildings competing.

Fjörður
In second place was the new Fjörður complex in Hafnarfjörður, which received 19.7% of the vote. It is one of the largest investments in the town centre in recent years.
Third place went to the development at Eyrarvegur 3-5 in the new town centre of Selfoss, which received 16.1% of the vote. Although these are new buildings, their design refers to older architecture – Amtmannshús at Ingólfsstræti in Reykjavík and Hotel Akureyri at Aðalstræti in Akureyri.
Fourth place went to Hverfisgata 100 in Reykjavík, with 13.4% of the vote, and fifth place was taken by Bergstaðastræti 18 in Reykjavík.
