The geothermal spa, Mývatn Nature Baths, known as Jarðböðin in Icelandic, has announced a major rebrand and the construction of a new facility, set to open in spring 2026 under the name Earth Lagoon Mývatn.
The operators revealed the change on social media, saying the new name and logo mark a fresh chapter for the long-running spa while keeping its well-known Icelandic identity. A new website has also launched, offering details about the upcoming complex and its entrance prices.
The current spa will stay open through 31 December 2025. It will then close for around three months while the new building is completed.
The owners say they plan to reopen in late March or April 2026, depending on construction progress. Existing admission rates will remain in place until the end of the year.
The new Earth Lagoon Mývatn promises updated facilities and an expanded visitor experience while maintaining their reputation as one of North Iceland’s top bathing destinations.
