Ístak is building a new multi-purpose sports hall in Borgarbyggð, and the works are proceeding according to schedule. The building’s steel frame is going up these days, and a clear overall picture of the project is beginning to take shape.
From the outset, Ístak has placed particular emphasis on carrying out the work safely and professionally; the site is in an area with heavy pedestrian traffic and, in particular, many children. At the start of the project, enhanced safety measures were put in place for pedestrians due to increased heavy-vehicle traffic in the area. These measures have proved effective, and it is encouraging to see the contractor and the community aligned in ensuring the safety of everyone moving through the area.
The building will be insulated and heated, providing first-class sports facilities for the municipality. With its arrival, both children and adults in Borgarbyggð will have modern facilities for training and a wide range of events.
The sports hall is scheduled to be ready for use in autumn 2026.
