Hnit Engineering in Iceland merges with one of Europe’s largest consulting engineering firms.
Hnit Engineering has merged with one of Europe’s largest consulting engineering firms, Artelia Group. This was announced in a press release.
Hnit Engineering has provided general engineering consultancy for more than 50 years in Iceland, but the company was founded in 1970. The company employs around 40 people and, with the merger with Artelia, will become part of the Nordic unit of Artelia Group.
“I see this as a great opportunity for all of us at Hnit Engineering, as a strong support base gives us increased opportunities to work on large and professionally challenging projects. As part of a large international group and an exciting workplace, we can offer our clients increased services and attract new talented employees,” says Kristinn Guðjónsson, Managing Director of Hnit
Artelia Group is an international engineering company operating in the fields of buildings, infrastructure, water, energy and industry. The company has offices in more than 40 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. The company is 100% owned by its management and employees. It employs around 10,000 people and has an annual turnover of over EUR 1.15 billion.
Hnit Engineering will be part of the Artelia Nordic business unit, which in addition to Hnit Engineering in Iceland consists of Artelia Denmark with 10 offices and Dr. Techn. Olav Olsen in Norway with three offices and a total of around 1,600 employees. Artelia Denmark leads the Nordic unit.
“Having Hnit Engineering become part of Artelia will strengthen the group’s position in the Nordic market. By combining professional expertise within the Nordic business unit based on shared values, commitments and professionalism, we strengthen both our customers, partners and employees,” says Christian Listov-Saabye, Managing Director of Artelia Nordic.
Hnit Engineering has worked closely with Artelia on several projects in Iceland for several years.
“We see the collaboration with Artelia’s international operations and Artelia Nordic’s strong Nordic position as a step in our further development. For us, it is very important to be able to offer our talented employees the opportunity to contribute to exciting and challenging projects. For our customers, Hnit Engineering will be the same company as before, but now with access to increased expertise. We are very happy and of course also excited to start a new chapter in the company’s history,” says Kristinn.
